This was expressed during a bilateral meeting between the two leaders at Palácio do Planalto in Brasília. Prabowo highlighted the potential for enhanced cooperation between the two nations, particularly in trade and investment, through this initiative. He emphasized the common interests and abundant resources that both Indonesia and Brazil possess, underscoring the importance of moving beyond written agreements to tangible cooperation.
Acknowledging Brazil’s advancements in agriculture and bioenergy, Prabowo expressed his admiration for the country’s achievements and expressed Indonesia’s interest in learning from Brazil’s experiences. He commended Brazil’s productivity and innovation in these sectors, highlighting the value of sharing knowledge and expertise.
Furthermore, Prabowo appreciated President Lula’s support for Indonesia’s plans to send technical teams to study Brazil’s agricultural technologies and innovations. This exchange of technical expertise is seen as a key step in enhancing Indonesia’s capabilities in these areas.
In addition to the discussions in Brasília, Prabowo’s visit to Brazil included participation in the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro. President Lula is expected to make a return visit to Indonesia in October, and Prabowo mentioned plans for a special celebration in Jakarta to mark Lula’s 80th birthday.
This exchange of ideas, knowledge, and expertise between Indonesia and Brazil is seen as a significant opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties and foster economic cooperation.
