Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the running mate number 2, made a surprise visit to the alleys of Warakas Village, North Jakarta. Throughout the journey, shouts of support for the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran pair continued to be heard.
Gibran walked through four alleys, getting off his vehicle in front of Alley 16, RT 07 RW 13. Mothers immediately rushed to take photos with Gibran.
Gibran also had a dialogue with party supporters and volunteers who were conducting free health checks in Alley 16 at the same time.
At one point, a man took a megaphone and invited the residents to pray for the success of Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 Presidential Election. Gibran thanked the residents for their prayers and support, and continued his journey through the alleys.
Gibran distributed books and milk to the mothers, and the enthusiasm of the residents welcoming Gibran was unstoppable. His journey was briefly halted, as many residents wanted to take photos with him.
Gibran then entered a narrow alley, about 1 meter wide. In the middle of the alley, the residents had prepared coffee, tea, and boiled cassava to have a chat with Gibran.
Gibran sat and had a conversation with the residents for about 10 minutes, without a megaphone. Everything happened naturally. However, he couldn’t stay longer as he knew there were many residents waiting for him in every corner of the alley.
“This is just a meeting and socializing event with the residents. Earlier, there was also free health checks,” Gibran told reporters on Tuesday (1/16/2024).
Mitha, a resident of Sungai Bambu, Tanjung Priok, said she intentionally came to Warakas to see Gibran in person. She also participated in the free health checks for her 2-year-old child who suffered from stunting.
Mitha hoped to convey her aspirations to Gibran. “My child is affected by stunting. He wants to eat but his weight and height are not increasing,” Mitha said.
Wiping her tears, Mitha shared that her first child, who is 4 years old, also suffered from stunting. She bears the burden alone as her husband left without saying where he was going.
“I hope to receive assistance from the government. My child needs to drink expensive special milk,” Mitha said.
Mitha expressed her support for Prabowo-Gibran and hoped that their stunting handling program would truly be realized.
“I support the stunting alleviation program so that the community with stunting problems can receive assistance,” she said. (SENOPATI)
