Minggu, 19 November 2023 – 11:41 WIB

Jakarta – Chairman of VKTR, Anindya N. Bakrie revealed that VKTR officially collaborated with PT Pertamina Power Indonesia (Pertamina NRE). This collaboration is carried out as a sustainable mobility solution for public transportation in Indonesia.

This was disclosed during President Joko Widodo’s state visit to the United States. “We are proud to announce an innovative partnership between @vktr_indonesia and PT Pertamina Power Indonesia (“Pertamina NRE”), a sub-holding of PT Pertamina (Persero) which focuses on new and renewable energy. Through a letter of interest to the US International Development Finance Corporation (US DFC), this partnership will bring sustainable mobility solutions for public transportation in Indonesia,” said Anindya via his Instagram @anindyabakrie on Sunday, November 19, 2023.

Anindya, who also serves as the Chairman of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Indonesia, said that in the United States, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) collaborated with the government, Pertamina, and Bakrie Group, to hold an Indonesia-US Business Roundtable. This event was attended by the US Department of State and the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC).

“The purpose of this event is to promote closer relations, especially related to energy transition and decarbonization issues, including electrification and important minerals (‘critical minerals’),” he explained.

Anin said that the event discussed strengthening cooperation and investment between Indonesia and the US. Opportunities from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) to strengthen business and investment relations between the US and Indonesia were also discussed.

“Policy support and strategies, as well as ways to collaborate in diversifying and securing sustainable supply chains of critical minerals, especially for battery materials,” he added.

On the other hand, it was also announced at this event the signing of a memorandum of understanding between INBC and AESC to encourage cooperation between Indonesia and the US in strengthening the supply chain of critical minerals for sustainable batteries.

Anin said that AESC is currently building a battery factory in the US states of Kentucky, Tennessee, and South Carolina. The factory is expected to provide access to the market for battery raw materials from Indonesia.

“We hope that all of this will accelerate the formation of an electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia and help achieve the Net Zero 2060 target or even faster,” he added.
