President Prabowo’s Heartfelt Support for PCO Farmers

President Prabowo Subianto has always shown a deep connection and appreciation for farmers, as stated by Dedek Prayudi, Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). This sentiment can be traced back to two significant moments in Prabowo’s life, one being his time as a military officer where he received help from farmers, and the other when he led the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI). The importance of farmers was highlighted during the grand corn harvest for the Food Security Program in Jenggalu Village, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province, led by President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The program aims to enhance food security in Indonesia, especially in light of the global demand for self-sufficiency to reduce reliance on foreign food supplies. Uki emphasized the need for government support to increase agricultural yields, motivate farmers, and ensure administrative efficiency to access subsidized fertilizers. This initiative received backing from Kelik Budianan, Head of the Food Data and Information Center at the National Food Agency (Pusdatin Bapanas), who is collaborating with Bulog to absorb farmers’ corn harvests and integrate supply chains to benefit both farmers and livestock breeders. The efforts were acknowledged by various officials and stakeholders present at the event, showing a shared commitment towards improving the agricultural sector and ensuring farmers’ well-being.
