Research has shown that the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program has a positive impact on children’s concentration levels, leading to improved learning motivation among students. Experts at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) found that students who received Free Nutritious Meals in Aceh showed increased concentration, supporting better educational outcomes. Similarly, studies by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) revealed improved learning focus and cognitive performance in areas like Bogor and Papua, especially among students who had not eaten breakfast. The program also significantly boosted attendance motivation and class concentration at State Vocational School 6 (SMK Negeri 6) in Medan.

Concentration plays a vital role in brain development during a child’s formative years, influenced by factors such as learning motivation, nutritional intake, psychological well-being, and physiological conditions like sleep quality and environmental factors. Key nutrients like protein, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids are crucial for brain development and cognitive function, particularly memory. The MBG Program aims to address nutritional needs for physical growth and cognitive potential, despite challenges like unhealthy consumption behavior among children and limited access to nutritious foods in certain regions.
