Prabowo’s Warm Welcome: Indonesian Diaspora in Russia

Prabowo Subianto, the President of Indonesia, was warmly welcomed by Indonesian citizens upon his arrival at his hotel in St. Petersburg. The excitement was evident as many Indonesians, including students, migrant workers, and members of the diaspora, greeted him with cheers and requests for photos. Prabowo graciously interacted with the crowd, smiling and engaging in friendly conversations. For instance, three medical students from Papua studying in St. Petersburg expressed their joy at meeting the President in person for the first time. Additionally, a family from Solo, Indonesia, currently residing in Russia, also had the chance to meet Prabowo. The encounter was filled with emotion and national pride, as the Indonesian community abroad offered warm wishes and prayers to their President, showcasing a strong bond between Indonesia and its citizens living overseas. There were even hopes shared for the establishment of an Indonesian consulate in St. Petersburg.
