Jakarta – Prime Minister Singapura Lee Hsien Loong congratulated the presidential candidate number 2 Prabowo Subianto who succeeded in the temporary calculation of the 2024 presidential election.
“Lee and Prabowo discussed the very good bilateral relationship,” said the Prime Minister’s Press Secretary, Chang Li Lin, as quoted from the Singapore media, Channel News Asia, Thursday (15/2).
Chang revealed that Lee and Prabowo also discussed agreements on the importance of identifying new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation for both countries.
Lee also reportedly contacted President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to congratulate the smooth and successful implementation of the 2024 Election in Indonesia.
In addition, Chang said that during the second term of office of the two leaders, Lee and Jokowi have sought to strengthen the close relationship between Singapore and Indonesia through the resolution of long-standing bilateral issues.
“They have also pioneered new areas of cooperation in sustainability, digital economy, and human capital development,” said Chang.
The quick count results after the polling on Wednesday (14/2) indicated that Prabowo has a high chance of becoming the next president of Indonesia.
During a speech with the vice presidential candidate number 2 Gibran Rakabuming Raka at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Prabowo promised to be a president for all layers of Indonesian society.
“Whatever their ethnicity, group, ethnicity, race, or religion, social background, all the people of Indonesia will be our responsibility to take care of,” said Prabowo.
“We will form a government team consisting of the best sons and daughters of the Indonesian nation,” he added.
Based on the latest calculation data from the General Elections Commission (KPU) at 17.28 WIB on the pemilu2024.kpu.go.id website, the Prabowo-Gibran pair is in the top position with a 56.32% of the progress of the incoming votes covering 43.93%.
As for the quick count results from several survey institutions, Prabowo-Gibran has a lead of almost 60%. According to the Populi Center calculation with 99.72% of the data entered, Prabowo-Gibran is leading with 59.13%. Meanwhile, with 95.9% of the data entered, Poltracking shows that Prabowo-Gibran is leading with 59.34%. (SENOPATI)
